 Borrego Airport Upgrade

Our airport facility in Borrego Springs is also sporting a new and improved look after completion of several projects and an investment of nearly $1 million. The Borrego Valley Airport has a new 12,000-gallon fuel system and island to make it safer and easier for pilots to refuel their planes, a new helicopter landing pad to serve private and military aircraft, and a new run-up area where pilots warm up their airplane’s engines before take off.

In addition, our County Airports crew installed a new navigation beacon to help pilots find the airport from the air at night.

The County owns and operates the 145-acre facility and contracts with an on-site manager for day-to-day operations.
